#BalanceDiabetesChallenge

November is Diabetes Awareness Month.

According to the American Diabetes Association, 645,000 (9.2% of the population) New Jersey adults have been diagnosed with diabetes.  Each year an additional 53,000 New Jersey adults are diagnosed with diabetes.  While these numbers are staggering, approximately 207,000 New Jersey adults have diabetes and do not know it.  Combined with the 34% of New Jersey adults who have prediabetes, there is a great need to spread awareness about diabetes in New Jersey.

In New Jersey, thousands of residents living with diabetes and other health conditions face daily challenges in finding balance—physically, emotionally, and financially. 💙 This November, the Pulse Vascular Team has launched The Balance Diabetes Challenge to raise awareness about diabetes and the risks diabetics face.

Did you know that in the United States, a limb is amputated due to diabetes every 3 minutes and 30 seconds? ⏳ Can you balance for that long? Most people can’t, but the Pulse Vascular Team is determined to see how many times we can collectively balance for 3 minutes and 30 seconds to raise awareness and donations for the American Diabetes Association.

Stay tuned to see how The Pulse Vascular Team is doing! 📲 Learn more about diabetes and help spread the word about the risks of diabetes and amputation to your friends and family.
